Request for Authorization to Accept and Appropriate FY 2024 Additional $25,000 Lead Health Safety – 2024 Grant (CHIP Healthy Homes). (Through the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, the City of Detroit was awarded an additional $25,000.00 for the Lead Health and Safety grant. This grant has been originally approved in the amount of $140,000.00 and has been selected to receive an amendment of an additional $25,000.00, resulting in a total grant award of $165,000.00 for FY 2024. The grant will be used in conjunction with the awarded Michigan Medicaid CHIP Lead Hazard Control Community Development Grant for fiscal year 2024 with no matching requirements.)

Report on Flyer for Community Outreach on Vacant Buildings. (The Legislative Policy Division (LPD) has been requested by Council Member Mary Waters to craft a flyer that can be distributed digitally and via print which ensures that property owners know that, should their property be vacant, even temporarily, they must register it with the City. LPD notes the adoption and or implementation of the flyers are an administrative function to be carried out by the executive branch of city government. LPD has honored the request of Council Member Waters and submit the attached flyers for City Council's decision on whether to forward the documents to the Administration's Building Safety, Engineering and Environmental Department (BSEED) for consideration.)
